This home was designed to feel contemporary with a relaxed, coastal feeling perfect for the lifestyle of North Queensland, Australia.

Image 1 - dining room, coastal


Different timbers were used to create a relaxed collected feel. The cross back chairs contrast with the beautiful farmhouse style table.

The kitchen area was designed to be neutral with a classic contemporary design. A feature panel in the island hides dirty dishes and provides a display area for a custom made glass piece from a local artist.

Taking center stage in the living room is this beautiful oversized painting by a local artist. The accessories were kept simple and understated.

A vintage industrial vignette in the guest bedroom was created with an iron table, black pharmacy lamp and some pretty accessories.

The master bedroom's headboard was created in a black and brown floral fabric to coordinate with the dramatic ensuite. The rest of the room was kept light and breezy with accents in copper, purple and green.

A dark farmhouse table was chosen to contrast with the light timber floors.

The hallway looks down past the living room to the contemporary timber door.

The guest bedroom was created with an industrial influence. The tan and cream striped headboard is raw silk, with cushion accents in linen ikat and floral embroidery.

Image 9 - bedroom, kids bedroom


The little girl's room scheme was started with the find of a vintage bamboo headboard which was painted in a cheerful aqua. Accents in yellow and cherry red create a pretty, cheerful space which can be easily updated as she gets older.
