I'm planning to knock down the wall between our livingroom and kitchen and make it open plan but I'm not sure if I should remove the whole wall or keep parts of it, any advise please.

looks like a pretty slim kitchen? Id knock it outand have a massive open space,that kithcen windwo would let oads of light through!!
