This is a picture of my livingroom room at present, Iam lost to how we wuld like it, I love contempory ideas but where this room is concerned my mind has gone blank!! any help would be good,

How about painting the walls and the fireplace white and put some wallpaper above the fireplace like Tina Frey's bedroom featured in this blog http://decorology.blogspot.com/2010/02/technique-to-inspire-when-you-just-cant.html (bedroom in coral red). I think your furniture would look great with this.

If you fancy a splash of colour - how about painting the walls on either side of the fireplace in a nice spring colour or wallpaper with nice textures?

Just a few ideas from me, good luck!:-)
