by the way your home is lovely as it is as well:-)

I would change the carpet to either wooden floor or a greyish carpet. We got a L-shaped sofa in faux suede fabric from Habitat, it's our favourite piece of furniture in the house so can recommend that one, comes in many different colours as well.
I would change the red walls in the kitchen to grey/mint green:-)
If you want to change your bedroom furniture - why not repaint them to off white/light grey or another neutral colour and paint the walls/one of them in a different colour like purple/blue to add some colours.
Just a few ideas from me, good luck!!:))
